You should expect to set aside a couple of hours to do something fun with your family or focus on your kids for your session. It’s a treat to have a custom photo session & I want to be sure it’s an enjoyable experience. One that focuses on capturing you and your family all together really being you. Or one that captures your children being uniquely themselves. My hope is for you to spend our time together enjoying your family. Laughing, eating ice cream, coloring. Documenting the new baby. Whatever it is that you will want to cherish as a memory or capture for your children to remember someday.
BEFORE YOUR SHOOT
I will work with you to find a time and location that suits your expectations. I will then be available to discuss clothing choices and other questions you have via phone or email. I recommend that clothing be simple. No words or logos on clothing. Traditional children’s clothing always photographs well! The best thing to do is to put thought into how you want to remember your child at their age now. If multiple children will be photographed or an entire family, please wear clothing that compliments each other or are in the same color family. Please avoid matching outfits, unless that’s how you dress on a daily basis. 
Special attention to layering colors and textures will bring a very styled look to your images.
If family pictures are being taken, prepare Dad! Commonly, they expect to come and do a typical 15 minute “studio style” photo shoot and be done. Please explain that this is not at all what the session will be like. Our sessions are fun and not high pressure; however, they are much longer than the typical studio sessions.
THE DAY OF YOUR SHOOT
My style of shooting is very relaxed and fun. I will arrive at our location at the scheduled time. I do request that your children be dressed with hair done etc . . .before I arrive. I’ll spend some time getting to know your children. Then I will spend about 1 hour playing and interacting with your children, while photographing them. Clothing changes are allowed as long as your child tolerates them. Your child will decide how long their session will last. Breaks may be taken for snacks and drinks as necessary.
AFTER YOUR SHOOT
We want you to be happy with your images; therefore, at this time, we do not require a minimum print order. However, you should think of portraits as an investment to last many generations. Most people spend an average of $1500.00 to furnish their homes with both desk and wall size portraits, albums, and/or fine art gallery wrapped canvases.
Your proofs will be available to view approximately 4 weeks after your session (allowing time for film processing and editing) on your personal shopping cart gallery. You’ll receive a 20% discount on anything ordered in the first 7 days!
