A few frequently asked questions…
– Is Carole your last name?
Carole is actually my middle name! Lindsay Carole MacDonald is my full name. :)
– What kind of cameras do you use? What do you do in photoshop to get your pictures to look like that?
It’s all film…no photoshop necessary. :) I use Contax 645 medium format cameras for the majority of my work, along with Canon 1v’s, and Canon 5dmkII for some digital work. My favorite films are Fuji Pro400H, Fuji 800z, Fuji Acros B+W, and Ilford Delta 3200 B+W. And Richard Photo Lab is my preferred professional film lab. My second photographer uses digital throughout the day.
– Do you travel for weddings or portraits?
Yes, absolutely. Because I love traveling to beautiful new places, I include travel within the continental United States within my Signature Collection. International destinations receive a custom travel quote and a $500 credit toward travel. I’m available for destination weddings and elopements wherever you can dream one up. Travel fees are kept as minimal as possible and fly-to destinations always include a complimentary Day After Session for the bride and groom! Special rates available for European destinations.
– What do your wedding collections include?
My signature wedding collection includes my film + digital wedding coverage with Lindsay, a second professional photographer, and a non-shooting assistant; travel within the continental US; wedding day digital negatives; a Beloved engagement session; a lovely box of curated prints; and a fine art heirloom wedding album. Bespoke tailored collections may also be designed from the A La Carte menu. Investment begins at 3,600 for weekend weddings, when building from the A La Carte Menu.
Payment plans and custom options are also available. Please let me know what you are seeking and I am happy to help create a collection tailored to your specific needs.
– Do you offer other photography services?
You needn’t be planning a wedding to indulge in a photo session with your beloved. I offer lifestyle sessions for all couples in love, regardless of age or years together. I am also available for commercial lifestyle and editorial commissions.
– What is a Beloved session…really?
Beloved is an experience, rather than just a photo shoot. I know that still sounds fairly vague. :) Come prepared to connect, snuggle, and show emotion rather than pose. My desire is to make visual art that tells the story of who you are together. Read more here.
– I love what I see! What’s the next step?
I want to connect with you! I meet every single client (whether it’s in person, over the phone, or via Skype) to learn more about you, discuss your wedding day, and ensure that your every need can be met. I want you to find your perfect photographer – one you trust and love. Trust is so important and it is essential that we click on a personal level. Equally important, you must trust my vision, artistic ability, and technical knowledge. At the same time, I will be looking for whether you are a perfect fit for me – personality, style, wedding/location setting – so that I can ensure you will receive my best work.
After our consultation, if we both get that giddy feeling, like we’ve found “the one,” I will send you our service agreement and invoice. Your wedding date is officially reserved upon receipt of the retainer (and any applicable travel costs) and the signed service agreement.
